What to use to stress-test a newly built system?

Hi folks,

I just built me my first Intel-based system in a loooong while, and I can't believe how high I'm able to get this P4 to run at.
I've had the computer on all day, doing regular every-day tasks, and it hasn't given me any trouble at all, but I would like to make sure that it won't give me trouble in future, because of the overclocking.

That's all. So, I need some sort of prgram or utility, which will put this system, and especially the processor through hell, so I know it's indeed stable.

🙂

if you have a first person shooter and it allows a skirmish type play, I'd set it to unlimited frags and let the computer bots kill eachother.

2 years ago I used quake as a stress test by creating 20 nightmare bots on DM17 and letting them shoot it out over night.

One good test is to loop 3DMark2001SE. Not only does it stress your CPU and video card, but it will tell you if your AGP is stable when out of spec.
