What to use as adhesive for RAM sinks?

I'm ready to change the cooler on my GTX. I'm having a hard time finding a way to stick the ram sinks to the memory, besides themal tape. The notice on Artic Silver site says, that whatever I use it on its stuck there permanently. Is there a mixture I can do with it to where it's not so permanent?

Any help on this guys would great.

Are you water cooling it?? Had my first evga 7800GTX on water. The evga's throttle down a lot when you disconnect the fan...so I sent it back and got the KO w/ACS edition instead. The OCZ ramsinks worked great for me...maybe you should try those because they're easy to take back off if you need to.

No, I'll be using a Zalman VF700. the OCZ ramsinks were the ones i was looking at. Thanks for reminding me about the fan issue with the original eVGA cards. I was thinking of doing the upgrade program for the KO versions. Then again, would using the KO BIOS on the original card get rid of the problem of the card throttle down without the fan being connected?

I would use tape, the ram dosnt get that hot anyway.

I was under the assumption that when I was getting artifact when I OCed was because of the RAM heating up too much. Am I wrong for assuming that?

Im not saying it wouldnt help, just that its not going to be a great performance enhancer. Rather than spend money on cooling devices because you OC too high and get artifacts why not just clock a little lower......say somewhere around stock speeds and enjoy playing games on the most powerful card on the market.

just use the tape supplied. i've done that on all the vf700 i've used.

sometimes removing the sink after enders the tape pretty much useless so i had to use as5. its good enough to keep them on but if you nudge them even slightly they move around so i'd just use the tape while you can.

definitely don't use the as adhesive as you will never be abe to get it off so an rma in the future, God forbid, would be difficult at best.

@sentry- i didn't notice any throttling back after disconnecting the fans but i haven't benched it. seems odd it would do that but its also the first time i saw them use a 4 wire fan header.
