So i have about $600 for a upgrade, i have no idea what to get, i was first thinking get a x2 or dual core opty and save for R600, or get a 8800gtx or go c2d, or just save

oh the choices...

Your set up looks pretty nice now. I would use the money to upgrade your video card to an 8800 series, unless ofr course you only like ATI, in which case save your money until they release their DX10.

is the rig not performing as you'd like? if it is, then keep your money.

for games, i'd grab a new vid card. you wouldn't see much improvement with a dual core chip unless you multitask frequently. C2D means a new chip, mobo, and ram, and that ain't happening for $600

i'm trying to avoid c2d as much as possible do to exactly your reason, i'll probly get a 165 or 170 and save for ati's dx10, just been noticing some chugging in company of heroes

A dual-core Opteron will probably perform worse in games than a 144 clocked as high as yours is.

New monitor?

Pfft.

Heh, nice Opty you have there... all I'm saying is that not all of them will do 2.8GHz+.
