What to spend my CC $40 off $200 coupon on?

I got this CC coupon for $40 off a $200 purchase and it expires at the end of the month. I've been looking to get a console system, so deciding between getting a ps2 or an xobx.

Just can't pick, and no xbox360 because I doubt it will be in stock and I don't have an hdtv to make it look pretty. Just a plain 27" stereo TV and a 2005 FPW.

I'm leaning towards the Xbox, but it only seems to come in the bundle for $180 and a game that only retails for $20. The ps2 comes with a free cheapo extra controller this week for $150.

As it's been said many times before it's all about the games. Which system has the most games that you'd be interested in playing? I have both myself since both have games that I enjoy playing. The one leg up that the XBox has among the AT crowd is that it can be modded to do many things such as MAME, keeping games you legally own on the HD, network playback of ripped DVDs, etc.

Got another question, I think I could probably play any ps2 games with some emulator software on my computer couldn't I? Leaning towards the xbox some more..

Xbox. Xbox. Xbox.

Then mod it. Watch/rip DVD's, rip all your games, XBMC can pretty much play any file format you throw at it, great for emulators and such.

No decent PS2 emulators that I'm aware of exist. I'm not saying that none exist because there are a few but from what I've heard they don't perform too well.
