Castles!

BTW: What's the differance between "The Rolling Stones" and a Scottish Sheephearder?

The "Stones" say "Hey You get off of my cloud."

The Sheephearder say's "Hey McCloud, get OFF OF MY EWE!"

I went to Stirling as a day trip from Glasgow. It's just a short (cheap) train ride from either Glasgow or Edinbrugh. It's very small and quaint town. Stirling Castle is there, as well as national William Wallace memorial. I felt like Stirling castle was a lot less touristy than Edinburgh castle. I stayed in the hostel which is very close to the castle....although you gotta hike uphill to get to it. I also went to Edinburgh, which is a nice city, too. The castle there was awesome and if you are going soon, I think they have a bagpipe festival in August (not sure though).

Um, go to that gift store that Homer went to. What was it called?

Oh yeah;

"If It's Not Scottish, it's Crap!"

:D

I'd go see the castles. Always wanted to see a castle. Go inside, find a bookcase and pull on the books to see if the bookcase slides open, exposing a secret staircase that spirals down underground.

Edinburgh kicks arse. Check out things on the royal mile there. I wasn't a huge fan of Glasgow, it was kinda dirty.

I agree. There isn't much to see there either. I had to stay in a hostel there and day trip out because all the Edinburgh hostels were full because of a rugby tournament.

If you're referring to the SNL skit, the name of the store was "All Things Scottish". :D

Loch Ness up in Inverness. That lake is beautiful. St. Andrews Golf Course...basically where golf was invented. Get up to the highlands if at all possible (Inverness). Gorgeous.

Find a nice castle and knock on the door. When they open it, tell them you're there to see their tapestries. Then go upstairs and rescue your long lost father.

Points to anyone who knows what that's in reference to. :D

Never been there, but, you probably do NOT want to see what's under the Scotmen's kilt's. ICBW.

Haggis!

I read somewhere that haggis was banned in this country, under the Cruel and Unusual Punishment clause. I just wish they'd do that with lutefisk...*shudder*
