Crusty bread (I prefer french) with mustard and swiss. Lettuce not ruin the sandwich with cheap vegetables. I prefer micro sprouts and spinach for texture. Tomato only if the condiment is mayo.

Well, my first thought is some good cheese and my first choice would be Jarlsberg. A little mustard, perhaps, a fine flavorful bread, a little mayo.

Put anything you want on it.
Just be sure you use Kosher ham, by all means!

Yeah, brown mustard, rye bread, and swiss cheese are the classic ham sandwich. I'm not a swiss fan, so I usually do cheddar or colby.

if YOU have to put anything into a sandwich, then you're doing it wrong

Somewhat true with Ham.

I prefer Smoked Ham, with Provolone one one side and Swiss on the other, all on a Hamburger bun. Heat until cheese melts.
Mmmmmm.

(Hardees/ Carls Jr. have a similar sandwich, I used to drive 10 miles just to get 2 for dinner!)
