What to put in a care package?

My friend is in Kuwait now and he requests someone send him some junk food. What else should be included besides junk food? If anyone would like to donate to my project, let me know.

Note: Items good and won't go bad in the Kuwaiti desert.

I'd send a TV guide and some condoms 😀

(Sorry, I have no idea, and I'm sleepy)

Do NOT send Maxim, Stuff, or any other workout/fitness mags.

These are considered pornography and it is illegal to mail them there. Mail is inspected, and the care package will be destroyed.

Things my wife liked getting while over there...

jerky
sunflower/pumpkin seeds
granola bars
coffee

Lots of people send cookies, chips etc. as well, but my wife that normally they were stale and beat up by the time that they got them.

Several good "hot" sauces, a favorite spice, flavored ice tea mix, couple of magazines that your friend has interest in, books that your friend likes, good pair of sun glasses, and anything your frined wants.

Alot really depends on where/what your friend is doing. Infantry=No PX Air Force= Big PX

Find out what he/she has around them and what they can get. Then send stuff they can't get.

Avoid alcohol. It dehydrates and it isn't too fun to get plastered in the middle of the desert. Plus unless everyone gets some, some one will whine to a boss/commander and your friend will be up a creek without a paddle.

Kuwait is a pretty liberal country compared to many other countries in that region, but if you are in doubt don't send something and write your friend about it.

We have BXs, not PXs, and yes...they are big

😛

We just sent a package over there for a couple of our troops, couple computer mags, jerky is good.

I know, I wanted M&MS and Heinz Ketchup (catsup, whatever) when I was over there. I got 20 x 1lb bags of penunt M&Ms and a giganta sized box of MCDonald's Ketchup packets!! ACK!

There was like 1000 packets in that box!!! The camp was swimming in Ketchup and M&Ms....ewwwww
