What to major in Graduate school?

I was thinking about going back and getting a Masters in something.

I have a B.S.E.E. but I don't want to major in engineering again. Been there, done that, and I dont like engineering. I went for the money ticket when I was younger and have regretted it somewhat.

Salary potential is not a major issue with me. But I do prefer to have some job stability.

Any suggestions?

if you dont know what you want to major in, why the fvck are you even thinking about going to grad school?

Major in International Relations with a concentration in international secuirty and the Middle East and also start taking Arabic.

You'll get a goverment job like nothing with a B.S E. E. combined with a masters in IR. Awsome job stability and interesting work.

MBA tends to be pretty forgiving for non-business majors. There's no guarantee you'll like it though. I'm finishing up my undergraduate business degree and sometimes I wish I had gone the engineering route.

I'm probably going back for my MBA in about 3-4 years (after I graduate in May). My fiancee is thinking of going back for Molecular Biology. Not sure how this helps you but I'd throw it in here anyway. 🙂

Work for the post office. I might.

Teeching is an option.

I just wrote a "my job sucks" type rant. I am fed up. Engineering sucks. We ar the most underpayed profession in existance. It is total horse shit.

Have you thought about going to law school and becoming a patent attorney? There's a pretty decent demand for BSEE's and the pay is good

Patent work is boring as hell though.

I would recommend working with a career counselor. They can help you find out what you really want to do based on your values, interests, etc. That could give you some direction before heading back to school.

Here is a book I recommend as well:

well, if it's not about getting a salary, I would personally go for an Arts & Science degree, such as mathematics. You will learn riches and riches of information.....

My thoughts exactly

Ditto. It goes know what you want to study -> decide to go to grad school. If you do it the other way around, you obviously don't have the passion to enjoy (or even make it through) the intense, focused workload.

Not a lot of choices it seems.

I just wanted to see some responses...and say 'yeah! that sounds interesting'.

Quite interesting. I will look into that furthur.

Doing what?? Seems awefully boring would describe most jobs there.

I'm not concerned about making a big salary at all, but would like a stable and at least somewhat interesting job.

go back and take a few undergrad clases to figure it out. Grad school is kinda expensive and the govt doesn;t give assistance for grad school like they did when I was an undergrad.

But if you really wanna do gradschool but are short on cash here is what you do: work for 1 year then get laid off. You can collect unemployment and get some extra govt money for retraining (grad school)
