What to look for in a cable signal splitter?

I'm not sure what I should be looking for. There's 2.4GHz, 1.1GHz, bi-directional, etc. I'm looking for a good quality three-way cable signal splitter for three TVs.

FWIW, I've had luck with the cheap Phillips Magnavox 4-way splitter at Wal-Mart (back in the cables aisle of the electronics dept.)....didn't degrade quality or anything

any cheapy powered splitter will work better then the nonpowered one you have, i got mine from radio shack and it has some tuning that adjust the frequency outputed a bit which did the trick, it cost about $30
