what to get with new system?

I am putting together a new system and am not sure what I should do video card wise.

Should I go 1 6800 ultra, or 2 6800 ultra sli, or 1 7800 or 2 7800 sli.

What would you guys do in my shoes? If you say go for the 6800, then would you wait until the 7800 is actually out (as it would probaly reduce the price of the 6800 ultras)?

THanks.

I'd wait for the next gen cards to actually hit the market and you should see prices on the 6x00 series drop, then pick up the best you can afford.

i'm going high end. Probaly a x2 4800 with 2 gig ram.

Just wondering if sli is worth the money (are there enough games that support it) or am i better off going with 1 vid card.

From what I am reading so far, seems like the 7800 is not worth it (either as sli or single card).

How much do you think the 6800 ultras will drop after the release? Do you think it will happen tomorrow when the 7800 is released or will it take a few weeks to see a price change?

Well, after the x800 series and 6800 series were released it took the 9800 and 5900 a couple of months to really see a noticable drop. Like now you can get a 9800 pro for $125 off of new egg. I'm also not a huge fan of early adoption on first gen hardware and from what I've seen the o/s market hasn't really kept up its part on making dual core processors live up to their potential. That being said, I also think you should wait to see more real world tests on the 7800 when it hits more consumer hands.
