What to get my wife for Mother's Day ...

I want to get my wife a mother's day gift, as she is well along the way to being a mother ... 5.5 months along with our first.

I was thinking a spa-day might be nice and relaxing.

Any suggestions?

i can't wait for my first ..... and only. anyway, the spa thing would be a good idea. advise her to save it for when she's like 7.5-8months along because she'll appreciate it much more then.

Yeah i dont know if they're allow to go to spa while being pregnant.. but usually they got gift cards that buy now and use later.. better check with the doctor before sending her there..

spa day, definatly. most nice spas have special massages for pregnant moms. then, take her out to a favorite restuarant later on that evening when she is all relaxed and glowing!

make sure to call the spa ahead of time to tell them how far along she is and ask what they suggest doing. Get her a massage, facial or scalp massage, then a pedicure for sure! If possible, try and find a nice dress to suprise her with there for her to change into for the nice dinner afterwards! (that last part is optional)

Another great idea ... she has some maternity clothes, but doesn't like many of them as they were hand-me-downs. I'll have to do some looking when I'm out of town next week. Thanks for the suggestions!

Spa day sounds very thoughtful. A video camera is also a nice present for a new mama, or a new digital camera. Also, when you're pregnant, especially with the first, your feet get bigger (mostly wider) from the hormones, so she could probably use a gift certificate to get new shoes (she probably won't need them yet, but will in a couple months.) Just don't get her what my spouse got me for Mother's Day when I was almost 8 months pregnant: nothing. :| I got him a new camera for Father's Day.

Forget buying her maternity clothing.. what I recommend is buying her a couple of other gift cards just for pedicure's.

I've always taken good care of my feet and I cannot tell you how difficult it is to try to do a pedicure on yourself when you're 7,8,9 months along.
