Dammit! Her birthday's this monday and I haven't picked up anything yet.. She asked for a gift cert. to the local outlet store but that feels too impersonal.. Any ideas? I've exhausted the jewelry options and I'm not good at picking out clothing.. Any opinions would be "dope".. thanks

p.s. she's turning 22

Pearl Necklace. 'Nuff said. :D

Edit: What does she like? Has she expressed a desire for anything special recently that you could get her, besides the gift certificate?

Set up a small picnic area somewhere nice and secluded, with lots of flowers, candles, a card (with her gift card inside), and a couple rubbers.

Have a nice night.

Ok seriously now, why dont you just tak her out for a nice quiet dinner and just spend the evening together. Flowers always help. My girlfirend likes this kind of stuff instead at least. Good luck with whatever you do.

I really don't get these kinds of threads, how are WE supposed to know what YOUR girlfriend would like for her birthday? Out of the 100,000 members AT has you know her the best. This works better if you list some of her interests/hobbies/likes or if you want to run some ideas through us.

Example: "I'd like to get my girlfriend a pearl necklace for her birthday, do you think that is a good idea"

"NO!"

:)

Well... she is interested in a gift certificate, so I think nan0bug's idea works just fine. ;)

You are complaining because its monday...give me a break I always get something at the last minute. Pearl necklaces and knee pads are great ideas, but I doubt she would think you bought them for her and not yourself. We have no idea what she likes, and therefore can only recommend universal things that girls like...chocolate, flowers, jewelry... I personally find that none of these things do any good, what you need to do is take the damn girl somewhere. YOu are obviously in high school guessing from the question, and girls die to take trips somewhere. Go to the beach, go to somewhere with nice scenery, just take her somewhere and buy her dinner, ice cream whatever. Girls are suckers for trips and evenings of conversations... I know it sucks, but grin and bear it.
You'll thank me, and I am sure she will thank you for the necklace later.

What's wrong with you? Pearl necklaces are always a good idea (for the man anyway). :D

This thread = in the crapper.

Get her a gift certificate to the local Nails/Hair/Massage Estrogen Emporium in your area. Women love that stuff, it's minimal effort from you and you can't go wrong.

I am the King of Impersonal Gifts. Gift certificate/BestBuy gift cards are winners all around. Guys get the Best Buy, women get the Janet's Nails and Hair. :)

A membership to the jelly of the month club? It is the gift that keeps on giving. As mentioned earlier we really don't know her, but whatever you do the best part of the gift will be the card. You could spend $150 on a gift, but if you spend $3 on a card and actually write some meaningful sentences in it, you just wasted the $150. Chicks go nuts for something written in their cards, females here could probably confirm.

by butt bang did you mean butt plug?

'But you said she's a real spark plug?"

"Spark plug? I meant 'butt plug'. She's heinous!"

Don't get her anything, it's probably not gonna last anyway and then you're out that money. If you must, get something cheap then.

A typical girl likes to smell good, and have lotions and little things.

Go to a local Bath and Body Works and find her something! I bought this for a chick friend of mine, and she loved it! It was perhaps the best present given to her out of all her friends.
