I want to give my male 6 month old welsh corgi consistent dry food for his health. What is a good brand? I hear that Purina One is the way to go. What about the hill science diet that is reccommended by vets?

Also, do puppies really need to stick with puppy food till they are 1 year old? is it bad to switch to adult dog food?

What I feed my seven month old Corgi.

He's been very healthy... Though he had a couple of intestinal parasites when he was 3 and 5 months old... antibiotics cleared it right up though.

Puppy food is basically the same bland as the adult version except it has a bit more protein. Nutro and eukanuba are also good brands and will cost a bit less than the science diet stuff.

When my dog was under one year of age, we gave him Nutro Puppy Ultra and he's as healthy as a horse.

Yeah, he's a great dog. Well behaved, obedient, smart and good with kids.

It's a crappy pic but it's all it's the most recent I've got...
If you wanna see him as a baby, here's his puppy war page

Take the dog to a vet and ask the doctor what kind of diet to put them on.

DO NOT BY GROCERY STORE PET FOOD UNLESS YOUR VET RECOMMENDS IT.

A dog's diet can change SOOOO many things about them, their lifestyle and their health. A dog's size, breed, activity level, age, living conditions, health problems and so much more can factor in to the food they need.

You can literally give your best friend years on their life by monitoring their diet.

My dog has been eating Purina One for 3-4 years now. And she doesnt like switching to other brand either (she'll eat the food eventually, but she doesnt like it)

I was reading some dog forums and they were saying Science Diet and Nutro were on the "bad" food list. They recommend brands like Chicken Soup for the Soul, Wellness, and Innova. Most of the good dog foods can be found at feed stores and better dog stores (not Petco or Petsmart). Although I'm cheap and feed my puppy Authority and he's doing fine.

Ha... your dog looks like my dog... only fatter.

My vet swears by Science Diet.

Basically it's a prescrition dog food. That means that what you see on the label is what is in the dog food. Other dog foods will submit a sample, get their nutritional label info and then change the ingredients at will.

Henry!
