I've seen many sites say that they can do ~3.6 on stock volts but that seems a bit optimistic IMO. What should I really expect? I'll probaby change the cooler as the Scythe Ninja has become reasonably affordable now...

Reason I ask is that Asrock has released a motherboard that supports Conroe but it has no options to change the voltage to the cpu.

It all depends on your memory and temperature. Higher temps result in instability, especially during the warm summer months. I would run the a/c when using your system, unless you're using water cooling.

It's gonna vary from chip to chip. I had to raise the voltage to get mine to 3.6ghz. Your's may do 3.6ghz on stock voltage. The ninja will work fine as long as you use the fan. Keeps me at 55c at 3.6ghz(which is actualy good for a smithfield).
