What to drink tonight?

BigJ

I've been a little short on money lately, so my drinking diet has consisted of Beast Ice, Beast Light, Keystone Light, and Natty Ice.

That situation has been remedied, and it's time for something decent to drink.

-If it's beer, I generally do not like Ales. So count them out.
-Don't even bother suggesting wine.
-For spirits, I'd like to stick to Vodka, Whiskey, Rum, or very good Tequila.
-Under $40/fifth.
-Mixed drinks are okay to recommend. I don't care what people say, if it tastes good, recommend it.

That being said, I'm at your mercy.

Mojitos... so SO refreshing and pretty easy to make

3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda

In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint, and serve.

Girl juice is good.
J/K!

A good long island iced tea.
It should be 5 different shots, preferably from quality hooch.
It should NOT be 2 watered shots and a bunch of coke. (AKA California-style.)

G&T FTW 🙂

Bombay Sapphire if you want teh pwn. Gordons if you just want a regular nice drop 😉

I rly don't like Tanquery myself, especially in martinis.

Gin and Tonic.

First thing that popped into my mind was picking up some Tanqueray 10.
10 is decent. I prefer sapphire, but will drink either with earnest.

Keep the drinks simple, don't go nuts with mixers and blends etc. Go with booze + main mixer, a piece of fruit is permitted in many drinks.

Tanq No 10 and Tonic
Whiskey and Coke
Patron Reposado chilled
Vodka + lemonade + splash of chambord
Midori sour
Disarrono sour

I've been itching for a Long Island Iced Tea or some good tequilla, but I think I'm probably going to be picking up either Bombay or #10.

If you make LI iced teas, do be sure to make your own sweet&sour mix otherwise it will taste bad. At least, I have not found a pre-done sweet and sour mix that has led to good LI Iced tea.

those will get ya going! Most of my favorite drinks have already been posted, use good flavored vodka for a killer white russian! (Prefer van Gogh melon)

Blender+banana+orange juice+vodka+sugar=good drink. Can be made with rum too. Note that the banana and sugar kill the alcohol taste, so you can make the drink very strong. I usually go with 1/3 rum/vodka 2/3 OJ.

Be sure to use plastic cups or rinse the cups out after drinking your drink, because the OJ+banana+sugar dries into a very solid and difficult to clean substance if left for long periods.

FTW. I had my first Mojito in London made with real Cuban rum. I *love* them. PErfect for a hot day.
