heres my dilema, i ahve a 900 athy running at 966-1005, (1005 isant great for long time gaming) so i want to upgrade.\
i have a Abit Kt7a, v1.1 Unfortunilty this board dosent offically support AthlongXP, and it find it pointless at this time to buy somthing other than an xp. I know Pauls Abit faq says people have got it to wor but it ocasionally has a prolem on boot and needs to be restarted.

My other option is to jsut get a new mboard, (DDR :) ) which means i'll need to buy more ram. So i would wait till a later time to get the XP.

What should i do??????
anyone got this to work?

Yes, get a DDR mobo and sell your SDRAM(which will fech good money now ram prices have gone up) then go for a AthlonXP later.

For me i'll be getting a AthlonXP before a new DDR mobo, because my current motherboard supports upto a AthlonXP 2000+. :)

I jacked my KT7a for a KG7 and have never looked back. You gotta love the ultra stable AMD760.

Get a new mobo, you deserve it!;)

If you get ddram, go with pc2700 samsung with 5 or 6 ns speed. Just a few dollars more, but it will come in handy if you change to a mobo that supports pc2700 now or later.
