What to do?

I presently have a S754 w/A64 3200+, 2 gigs G.Skill ram, 9800 Pro w/Zalman cooling, 120 & 160 gb hard drives on a K8V SE Deluxe board powered by a FSP Group AX500-A.
I'll have the opportunity in a week or so to snatch the Intel® Core? 2 Duo Processor E6300, Intel® Desktop Board DG965WH, & Microsoft* Windows Vista* Ultimate through Intel soon if I want to.
Right now there's the deal on the FX55 floating around & that's tempting as well.
If I went with that, i'd need to switch out motherboards & possibly the video, but i'd be able to keep my ram. If I went the other route, i'd definitely have to swap out the video AND ram AND power supply.
I'm just not sure which way to go on this. I know the C2D would be the better processor, but i'm not sure of the overclocking capabilities (if any) with that board. I'm sure i'd have no trouble selling my ram & possibly the power supply, but not so sure on the video. I also have no idea what my motherboard/cpu would be worth, either.
Ideas? Comments? Suggestions?

I'm asking myself the same question, I'm also eligible for this purchase program, and it's very tempting. To me it's almost worth it just for the OS, since I still have a good system. Personally, I don't know that I want to upgrade what I have, since it's less than 1 year old. I would say in your case, you should do it, even with the extra expense of DDR2, video card etc. Also, I don't think you would need to sell your PSU, 500W will be plenty, get a pci-e adapter if you need one.

You can't OC with Intel boards, the CPU at stock is still pretty damn good. How much is that deal? Its for retail employees isn't it? I'd do it for a cheap legit copy of Ultimate. You can always sell the Intel board on eBay (I think? Maybe marked not for resale) and get a Gigabyte DS3 to OC the CPU to 3+GHz.

It's $220 for the CPU, MB & Vista Ultimate.
I thought at first I needed a new PSU because I was under the impression that the 965 boards required an 8-pin connector like the 4-pin connector my Asus board, but after looking at this picture, I see the same 4 pin connector. However, I do see that my PSU only has 2 SATA connectors, so perhaps I'll still sell it and get this one.
Now the only question is to how much an A64 3200+, Asus K8V SE Deluxe, 2-one gig sticks of G.Skill ram & a 9800 Pro w/Zalman cooling is worth. 😕

For $220, that is a really good deal. One thing you will have to remember is that the Intel motherboard will only handle two PATA devices, so if you have two optical drives, you have nowhere to plug in you hard drives (I am assuming they are PATA and not SATA). If that is the case, you will also have to buy a new SATA hard drive along with new DDR2 memory.

I would go for the retail edge deal. Its some decent hardware, and vista for 220 cant be beat. Ive got the chips and am definitelybuying this bundle.

It looks like in addition to a power supply, ram, video, motherboar, cpu, i'll also be getting rid of a hard drive or 2...hehehe.
Hope it works in my case!! LOL!!
