well as of now i have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, but i had to return my mobo ram and psu for certain reasons, the psu and ram are getting replaced, so im left without a motherboard, which is when i ran into problems. i dont know weather to get a high end AM2 mobo, and wait for DX10 and grab that and the K8L's in about a year.

my original thought after i sent the items back in was to get a P5B Deluxe and a E6300, and oc it and be completley happy, but im having second thoughts. because the processor (3800+) is past the 7 day return or replacment offer from newegg, i cant return it, so if the processor ends up being the broken item (the cause of the returns was a problem in the comp that i couldnt diagnose so i decided to get replacements and start from scratch) im sh!t out of luck. could a broken CPU cause system lockups? anyway, what would be the logical choice or what would you guys do?

thanks in advance for your input

Could be the CPU, but doesn't the CPU have a warranty through AMD? OEM is 1 year, retail is 3 years.
