Hello,

I have a connundrum. All of the components in place for building a pc are in place, sans cpu and memory. Sience I may be getting a decent dual core amd cpu, I am wondering.. Should I buy a 2 gig kit of ddr and hope for the best? Or should I liquidate or trade my wares and get a shiny conroe, a few gigs of ddr 2 and the asus 975x mobo?

I'd go with conore.

From the bechmarks they are obviously performing better than anything either company has at the moment. They are also going to be supported longer than s939 which is being phased out at the end of the year.

personally i wouldn't go with the 975x too much of a premium unless you are going to be us CF or SLI. Unless you are doing dual graphics I'd go with a cheaper 965 board.

It has them as they were rements of my elder system which had to be dismantled.

If your older system already has 4 gigs of DDRII what are you upgrading from?
