Hi all,

I'm graduating this May with CSIS degree (Computer Science). I have a steady job right now making good money for where I am (South Jersey), but I know I don't want to be with the company I'm at forever.

Should I:

A) Graduate in May but still stay down here in South Jersey for a little while (a few months to a year), work at my current job, make some money, and take things slow (plan!)

B) Start sending out resumes now and graduate in May and immediately leave South Jersey for a place like North Jersey (to get a job in New York) or Bostonish area.

Not sure which direction I should head... do I take my time? Or do I just try to get outta here? The only thing I don't like about South Jersey is its hard to meet girls... other than that, I don't mind staying here for a LITTLE while.

Opinions?

Send out those resumes, and if you don't see anything good then you can stick around in South Jersey for awhile. You never know if there might be some sort of amazing opportunity waiting for you. Doesn't hurt to send out resumes after all

OK ... so you're saying get the areas I would consider moving to (it would be the Northeast Corrider... Philly, New York, Bostonish), send our resumes to companies, and if I get any offers, THEN consider moving there? Otherwise just chill in South Jersey for the Summer to get my head straight?

Yeah? I live in Galloway. Should chill sometime? hehe.

Yeah, agreed. Right now I work in Atlantic City with a stable job.... but yeah, I don't really like it down here at all :-( Thing is, most of my friends are either down here OR in North Jersey .... so if I moved, I'd probably want to move to North Jersey first (maybe work in NYC or somewhere up North).

My x-girlfriend (who means a lot to me) is in Boston, so if I moved there (unrelated to her BEING there), I'd at least have some kind of friend to start with.... so many decisions.

But yeah, this place does bite...

PS: There are a bunch of us from galloway. Necine is from galloway too.

Do you have family or something else in the N.E. keeping you there? I mean, you mention South and North Jersey, New York and Boston. There is more to the USA then where you are at atm. I suggest California, after you stay put following graduation for some time to save money etc... for the move to cali..... Just my opinion.

EDIT: And the women in California have tans :)

I'm attached to the Northeast DEFINITELY because all of my family lives here and I am pretty close to them. My family is from the New Brunswick area actually, that's around where I grew up.

I think I'll just send out my resume to a bunch of places in Philly, New York, and Boston, North Jersey too .... and just see if i get any offers. Until I get offers, I'll stay in South Jersey to continue getting the years of experience at my current job.

FTW? ^
