as you can see in my sig ive got a 2+ year old system... and its just now really starting to show its age...

now ive got a few things i could do, ive got the ASRock Dual939-Sata2 which having both AGP 8X and PCI-Express 16x it has a "future expansion/AM2" slot in which i can buy a card from ASRock and plug in an AM2 processor, that card also has slots for DDR2 memory...

after reading a little bit some people think its kida a waste to upgrade AMD systems unless your going to a conroe or something like that... well id like to keep my setup just a tad longer so i just orderd another gb of ram for it since i do some photo editing in PhotoShop CS2 when i do my photography thing...

i also know my video card is holding me back a bit as well but really, its on par with the rest of the system since its been overclocked so much....

short of a full C2D system rebuild with 2gb of ram and a 8600GT or HD2600XT, what would you suggest i do?

Welcome to anandtech. Since you've got an older video card, and have just ordered another gig of DDR RAM, I'd recommend you find yourself a Skt. 939 X2 for that board. Newegg is selling X2's that are much faster than your single core for ~$60. BTW, right now your system isn't video card-limited, it's cpu-limited. In other words, your video card is much faster than your cpu. With an X2 4200, it would be slightly video card-bound in games that are SMP-enabled, and would be a very good match for your video card in older non-SMP-enabled games.
