I have one PCI slot left. My other slots are taken with a modem, sound card, network card, and dvd decoder card. What can I put in the last slot? The only thing I can think of is a TV tuner card like ATI TV Wonder or one of the Hauppauge cards.

thanks,
don

uh...it isn't usually a goal to completely fill all of your PCI slots.

Do you want to watch TV or listen to the radio on your computer? If not, then don't bother spending more $.

or.. you could leave it open and prevent future IRQ conflicts ;)
or you could put a slot fan in! but usually they take up 1 and 1/2 slots in reality

Or a promise ultra100 card so you can have 8 IDE drives
or a SCSI card so you can have 0 IDE drives ;)

When I had 5 PCI slots filled it was:
ATi TV-Wonder
Linksys NIC
Promise Ultra100
SBLive! Value
Hollywood Plus DVD Decoder

I'm not looking into filling all of my PCI slots. I just want to know what other types of 'cards' are out there besides modems, sound cards, network cards, dvd decoder cards, and tv/fm tuner cards.

Might want to consider a firewire adapter card as well. That would be nice for some high bandwidth transfers, i.e. digital video camera, external burner, etc.

Hehe, when my PCs have an open PCI slot, I'm always trying to think of ways to fill it. :) I'm always trying to maximize my PC.

Like someone mentioned, the only cards I can think of are:

TV/FM tuner cards
Firewire
USB 2.0
SCSI
MPEG II Encoder cards (Dazzle DV Creater II or that Hauppauge PVR card)
ATA100 cards (if you want to add more internal EIDE HDs or ATAPI devices)
