Fired up my old Q9650 and it lives. I got a 100GB (74GB) SSD drive in it, and the motherboard is an Asus 5Q Premium board, 8GB of ram , cl7.7.7.21

My daily rig I use an X58 rig, and I've just upgraded my other X58 gaming rig to a 3800X.

I've googled for some ideas and two ideas came up, learning Linux or another OS, or building a surveillance security system, or a while ago I was thinking about turning it into a router.

Open for other ideas.

I just retired a nearly identical machine, I upgraded to a 3800x too.
Posting for suggestions. Old machine still works but has occasional startup problems.
The Q9650 had an amazing run. 10 years+ and I could still game on it. Admittedly I don’t play COD and I’m not a FPS junkie.
