What to do with lots of free RAM?

So I installed 12GBs of RAM on my Win 7 machine.:sneaky:

I pretty much never use more than 4GB. What should I do to utilize all of my RAM?:hmm: Anything fun? Programs?

There is nothing to do with it. A RAMdisk is fun for the first few minutes of benching, then after that its useless.

DDR3 is so cheap now I suppose there's really no harm, besides having loads of free RAM. I'm wishing now that I had bought more DDR2 back in 08'/09' when it was really cheap, now I need more and the price is really high compared to DDR3. If the same thing happens with DDR3 I suppose you could sell some it off in the future for a profit :hmm:.

Just let Windows use it for file caching, and enjoy a lack of those occasional pauses and stuttery FPS periods that occur when you get near using it all. If you have a suitably regular set of habits, Superfetch will go ahead and pre-fill it for you, even, unless you already have a very fast SSD.

I like to copy my music or video files from my HDD to RAM and listen or watch them from RAM. I like that I'm not regularly reading from the HDD while I'm watching or listening to my stuff. I don't know if this actually helps prolongs HDD life or not, but that's my personal theory.
