What to do with extra HDD?

I just received a replacement drive for the defective Seagate SATA I bought last year. The original drive was DOA but, by the time I built my new rig, it was too late to return the drive to the store.

Since I couldn't wait for Seagate's RMA, I bought a WD 120GB ATA 100 drive on sale at Fry's (the difficulty I'm having getting my $50 rebate is another story). The WD is my games and storage drive; my boot/apps drive is a Seagate Cheetah 15k SCSI.

So, what would you do with the SATA drive? Sell it, buy a second one and setup RAID with the mobo's onboard controller, keep it as a spare, other option?

I would ghost my harddrive to it, and then back up my most precious movies and music or whatever to the rest of it.

I would get one of these so I could easily pop it in when needed.

Since the replacement drive KnightPalatine got back is SATA, wouldn't he require a unit such as this to do what 1sikbITCH suggests? BTW I think that's a good idea, Ghosting his WD over to the replacement drive.

Does anyone know is these type of removable drive racks are particular as to what type of drive connection they require? Specifically, would there be an issue connecting a removable drive rack to an on-board High Point controller? I have a spare High Point channel, and this would be a simple way to do a Ghost procedure w/o having to open up my case each time.

Hah good point Jeff! I totally didn't think about it being a Sata drive at 5 a.m. 😀

And bump for your question as well.
