What to do with exces rubber fan mount??

For people that have used them, what did you do with the excess left out the back of the fan ??

clip it off if the fan is in place and not expected to be moved.

I folded over the extra length of the mount, then took a fine-bladed screwdriver and stuffed it back into the mounting hole, so there's a small loop there now.
