what to do with dry clean only pants

OS

Lifer
I made the mistake of buying some dress chino pants at banana republic. I bought a set, threw it in the washer and then they shrank like a size but otherwise looked fine still. I took them back and got and exchange for a size bigger and only now i notice it says "dry clean only". I did check to see that they are cotton, but does anyone seriously buy clothes for every day that they only dry clean?

Not really.

The only reason they put those tags on there are because of the dry cleaning mofia - you know...the yakuza or whatever.

But sure, most of my nicer pants are dry clean only. Ever wednesday the dry cleaning fairy picks them up from my front door and cleans them (serious)

Just FYI -- all non pre-washed clothes made of cotton WILL shrink at least 3%. That's why they tell you to 'dry clean'. That is the only reason. Cotton does not require to be dry cleaned.
