What to do with an old Vaio Laptop*?

My mom gave me her old Sony Vaio PCG 505-f Laptop, because she just upgraded to an iBook...

This thing is OLD... But it does have some things going for it... It's extremely Small, Lightweight, and stylish...

It has a 4gb HD (upgradeable to 80 or 100 I think)

I just upgraded system ram from 32mb to 96mb (the max)

The proc is an intel Pentium MMX I believe 233 mhz...

It fits the minimum system requirements for XP, right now it's running Win 98...

I'd like to do a striped down network install of XP, but I have no clue how to do that,

It has no CD rom drive, and an external floppy...

I guess linux is an option, but I'd prefer XP pro just so I can Remote Desktop into my Headless File Server..

Anyone know how to do a network install or where to find a good guide???

Anyone have expirence with XP on a system with under 128mb of ram?

*note* no I will not give it to you...

**UPDATE**

SEE POST BELOW... Installing over the network as I type...

How much for it?

I'd prefer to keep it, as I just spent $60 on a ram upgrade, the battery is dead, so it only works with the power brick, although a new bat is only like $30 I would say as-is I could let it go for about $100, wich is way more than anyone is probably willing to spend, It's just what it is worth to me... so in short, it probably isnt worth selling...

*Update* I found out how to do a network install of windows xp Media Center Edition 2005...

It's installing as we speak... quite the learning/troubleshooting experience, as I've been working on installing windows for close to 2 days now...

But I'll be confident when I'm done that I'll be the only one in the world running MCE 2005 on a VAIO notebook thats almost 10 years old 😀

83%done, so far so good, wish me luck...

You're not going to be doing much with MCE.

Now a'days this POS isnt going to be doing much with anything...

all I want it for:

Wireless websurfing
remote desktop to my file server
word processing
maybe some mp3 streaming...

For such simple things, you should just use Linux or 98... heck, maybe even W2K. Anything else will be SLOOOOW loading... and i doubt you'll be able to even browse and play an mp3 simultaneously without stutters.

I upgraded from a crap-tastic install of 98... It's booting for the first time right now (and taking plenty of it) I think once I turn down all the bells and whistles and stuff and tweak it to hell I should be able to run it just fine...

With those specs its almost more trouble than it's worth. THe browsing experience is going to be pretty tedious
