Hey all,
I have 3 no longer booting HP Omnibook 900 laptops that I rescued from the trash bin.

Does anyone know of something fun/ cool to do with old laptop LCD monitors? These are also touch pads on these machines so if anyone has any thoughts on what to do with those as well that's be interesting.

Yeah, well I don't know if the time it takes me to list these on eBay is worth the 10 to 15 bucks I'd make on them.

well if it's 15' u can always make a projector with it, you put the lcd on an overhead projector with proper spacing between lcd and projector lens with fans blowing hot air away, u got a 15ft projector

You could make one of those photo picture frame things maybe.

I've seen a few articles on those in various PC magazines.

Yeah, I've seen that article. (DIY video projector) That is a cool idea... Does anyone happen to know if there is any kind of coverter that would allow me to plug one of these things into my computer at home? It might be kind'a cool to have 3 13" 'mini-monitors' floating around my desk. (Even at work that could be pretty cool... mount them on the wall around me... hmmm.

Definitely digital picture frame. There are how to's all over the net. It's a fun and relatively inexpensive project from what I've read.

Friends made a DIY projector out of one. It's really fun, they bring it over once in awhile and we watch movies projected on the wall of our house while we sit in the hottub.

I really like the hottub idea... is there a DIY option for how to make a hottub from broken laptops? =)

I would think for most applications you'd need a working systemboard to go with it, but I could be wrong. The video connectors are proprietary, so unless you have a working board or can fashion an adapter you're SOL
