Use it as a work PC, so you won't be tempted to even try playing UT2K3 on it ;)

K-mart, Sams, and Costco all have a 300 watt for about $30.

That computer makes a nice file server, and would make a nice router as well.

Put this on it! A 500 would handle 100 Mbps+ continuous traffic with many rules, VPN, etc without any problem!

Cheers!

That or almost anything you can think of. Put at least 256mb of memory in it and it wouldn't be a bad little gaming box (at low res, of course!).

My P3-550e box with 256mb of PC100 doesnt' too too badly at things like Q3A, original UT, Deus Ex, etc.

It would make a great file server, DHCP server, DNS server, firewall...hell, send it to me and I'LL PAY SHIPPING. :D

You could do a bunch of things with it, but many aren't even worth the effort. I'd try to sell it, personally.

I'm going to be using my old Athlon 500 as a Home Theater PC.

They actually turn out really nice when you use a proper HTPC case, and almost blend in with your other components. Beware though, the nicer cases can get pretty spendy. :)

You must have DSL. When I had DSL my IP changed HOURLY. I am not kidding. There's a proggy called "FREEPING" that you can set to ping a specific IP (or range of IPs) every "XX" seconds.

Using that proggy, my DSL connection would keep it's IP for a few weeks at a time. I pinged their DNS/DHCP servers.

Donate it to a daycare. Little kids would be thrilled to use it. Their games don't require much of a computer, 500mhz will be fast enough for them for years.
