What to do with a 2nd spare computer?

Well, in 3 weeks or so, I'm going to build my next computer making it a total of 6 in the house. (Mine, my brothers, dad's laptop, server, tablet PC in a day or two, and my new one in 3 weeks)

When I get my new one, my brother gets mine, server gets his, and since dad's laptop and our tablet PC aren't easily upgradeble with our desktop parts, they stay out of the picture. This leaves our current server with nothing to do. Right now it handles our small websites, FTP server, proxy server, and a few other small miscellaneous things.

What should I do with it since the server will stop being used as we transfer the services over to my brother's current computer which will become the server? I'm not able to really think of anything it can do since all the other small things we need done will be done on the new server. Any ideas? Also, I would run SETI@Home or something of the sort but on a Celery 433mhz, it'll take a long time.

I don't think the guys in the distributed computing forum will care that it takes a long time. 🙂

I understand but I just don't feel its worth it because... I don't know, I just don't ever feel like doing those types of distributed computing things.

Linux MP3 server. I am listening to some music off of my P1-133 running RedHat 9 right now.

Oh wait, as I type this it just crashed. I think I need to check the settings on the sound card. :'(

Agh, some Intel board

256MB Ram
Celery 433
5 Gig hard drive, will have a 60gig also
Integrated graphics
Integrated Sound
Network Card
Some case and PSU
Again, this is ages old and from before I even cared what kind of computer we had.

Umm... we have a spare wireless card and pci card for it. I don't really need something to listen to mp3's on because I'm fine with what I'm using right now. What advantage would that give me?

It depends how much more $ we're talking. Yeah, I'll be willing to spend a little more as long as I can get some use out of this thing...

None, if you're fine with what you've got. Just suggesting! 😉

Setup a free internet service on it and give it to a family who is really needs a computer for internet access but can not afford one.

Good suggestion. I'm helping a friend out right now with his 200MHz Pentium. He'd love to have a box like that.
