No need to guess, I could just sit outside your house and sniff the traffic. The mac addy is sent plaintext.

chances of someone doing that are low.
He asked if it was hard, not the chances of someone doing it.

Red Pickle, if this is a home network and your using a router,
why not an an encryption key (netowrk key) so that no-one can connect without this code.

Should be able to go into router settings and add a key here.

No-one can connect to my wireless network unless they know my 26 key WEP.

I know a number of people who leech off open WAPs and if you ask me, the WAP owner is getting what they deserve, considering the sheer lack of effort. WEP is not that difficult.
