OK, I got promoted the 1st of Feb, 2004. We get paid every 2 weeks. So, mid Feb, I checked my pay stub and saw that the check amount was the same...so I told my boss about it and he said he would tell HR to fix it and the "end of the month" check will reflect the new raise amount retro to Feb 2004. Which means, that check will be new amount + the money owed to me from Feb 1-Feb15.
I haven't reveived the pay stub yet, but I did check my bank account and did a lil math. Took the total amount placed into my account minus expenses and came out with a number. This number seem to reflect my new salary, without the Feb1-Feb15 retro pay.
My question is...what should I do now? I bust my ass everyday, I even worked today to upgrade a server. Why didn't my boss check with HR to make sure that I'm getting paid the right amount? When I told him there was a problem with my pay check...would't it be a primary part of his job to make sure I'm getting paid the right amount? I mean...c'mon! This is outrageous! What should I do? Part of me wants to call him up Monday screaming. The better part of me says to calm down and handle this calmly...it's not really his fault, it may be HR's fault.
What do you guys think? Oh, and share your experience too!
