Apple has officially released iOS 11, and some users are experiencing an issue with the touch screen becoming unresponsive/not working. Here we have some steps listed below that users could adopt to fix this touch screen issues.
Step 1
‘Force Restart’
The first step that users should proceed with is force-restarting their phones. Force-restarting fixes most of the glitches users may experience after an iOS update. Press the power button for few seconds until ‘slide to power off screen’ appears. Slide it to the right and wait for it to switch off. Do wait for a few moments after it is powered off and turn the device back on.
If the swipe on the screen is unresponsive, try holding the power button and the centre button for about 10 seconds until the apple logo appears. This force restarts the iPhone. Check if the issue is resolved. In case if it still persists, proceeds to step 2.
Step 2
‘Adjust 3D Touch Sensitivity’
If the restart doesn’t help to fix the issue, check 3D touch before confirming that the issue is due to the software update is done. Click ‘Settings’ > ‘Accessibility’ ‘3D Touch’ tab. Try adjusting the sensitivity of the touch and if it doesn’t work, try disabling the 3D touch. If the issue still persists, proceed to step 3.
Step 3
‘Factory Reset’
Reset the iPhone back to its factory settings. Users can back up their phone via iTunes before resetting it, or if the phone is already backed up, they can proceed with the reset right away. Click on ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Reset’ > ‘Erase all Content and Settings’.
The phone would ask for your passcode, enter it and the phone would be reset to its factory settings.
Step 4
‘Restore’
Check if your iTunes installed in your PC/Mac is up to date.
Connect the phone to your system. Click on your device tab > ‘Summary’ > ‘Restore iPhone’.
It would take a couple of minutes to restore. Once it is done, the issue would be fixed.
