Every time Apple releases an update, users often experience this issue. iPhone gets struck on preparing an update. Do follow the steps mentioned below to fix the issue related to this. This is an important parameter to be checked to ensure that the update is not struck due to lack of optimum storage. Click on settings from home screen.
Step 1
Check ‘Storage’
'Settings’ > ’General’ > ‘iPhone Storage’. The update needs optimum space to be downloaded, installed, and updated. If storage isn’t the issue, then proceed to step 2.

Step 2
Delete ‘OTA’
Click on ’Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘iPhone Storage’. Check for OTA file or the update file that is yet to be installed and delete it.

Step 3
Delete ‘OTA’
Now click ‘Settings’ > ‘General’ > ‘Software Update’ and download it again and install. If the issue still persists, proceed to step 3. Users should confirm the speed of their Internet connection before moving to step 3. There may be chances of update getting struck for a long time due to poor Wi-Fi connectivity.

Step 3
Update Via ‘iTunes’
Connect the iPhone via USB to a computer, run iTunes. If there is an update for iPhone, iTunes will prompt for an update. Click 'Download' and 'Update' and complete the process. This would take less time compared to that of a Wi-Fi update.
