I will have two spontaneous nights in Vegas this week. I don't gamble. Can anyone provide a short list of must-see/do tips?

I honestly found it amusing enough just walking around the casinos going people watching.

Also, Sheldon Adelson's casinos are like little disneylands in terms of architecture. It's fun enough just bringing a camera.

Well, if you don't gamble there is always dinner and a show...

There is also the Fremont Street Experience in old downtown Las Vegas. Lots of fun if you like to watch people, and they have a zipline that runs right down the middle of the street.

Why do people need to ask what to do in Vegas? Go gamble, get drunk, get a hooker, watch a show, eat a buffet, go shop, get hit by Mike Tyson.

People watching is always fun there.

If you like to "do" stuff you can go by the Atomic Testing Museum, it's kind of cool. http://www.nationalatomictestingmuseum.org/

Visit the Pawn Stars place, go catch some shows. If you like the Beatles the Beatles Love show at Mirage is very good.

If you don't mind driving some these are fun to do:

Hoover Dam
Red Rock Canyon is nice and you can drive through it. My daughter and I hiked around on the rocks out there in March and that was a lot of fun.
Valley of Fire is a very cool State Park to visit
Mt. Charleston
Death Valley

Not much point in going to Vegas if you don't gamble.

Eh, Vegas is like a grown-up Disneyland.

When I went there, I didn't gamble. But I didn't really think about it.

It might make sense to do a gambling budget. Like, give yourself $50 a day to play a table card game. Do it for the atmosphere and to meet people.

Too bad card counting is pretty much impossible with the new card shuffling machines they use + 3 to 4 decks. Makes the table card games functionally no different from the video machines.

I've been to Vegas many times. My advice: Run away as fast as you can.
