This place was pretty cool; http://www.calacademy.org/
They had an earthquake simulator when I went.
If you're into museums and science, the Exploratorium would be interesting.

If you've never been to the city, knock out all the touristy stuff.
Cable Cars,
Fisherman's Warf,
GG Bridge
Union Square
Will you have a car while here? How much time?
If you have some spare time and a vehicle.
Alexander Ave across the GG Bridge, just go for a leisurely drive, and yes keep doing past the 18% grade one way sign, just go.

I know, right? So ugly.
I commute by bicycle, work in the Presidio, and far too often make the mistake of riding across the bridge and along Conzelman. Ugh. Why do I keep doing that to myself???![]()

Note that this road is called Conzelman Road. Take Alexander to get to it.
Heading to San Francisco pretty soon for a few days. Taking my wife but I'll be working all day and will only have the evening to do stuff with her. Staying near Union Park Square. What are some things my wife should do on her own and what are some things we should do together in the evenings? Also what restaurants should we hit up?
Thanks for suggestions.
Visit the Metreon downtown
Gays
Hippies
Racist black people :sneaky:
Cable Car Museum is cool if you like mechanical things. And you should see Alcatraz too.
It's a shit fest up there on crowded weekends. There is limited parking so people are always getting into fights about parking spots.
things to eat:
tartine bakery
tony's pizza
yak sing for dim sum
rich table
delfina/pizzeria delfina
frances
zuni
seven hills
the house
swenson's ice cream
gott's roadside (ferry building)
rickybobby
Unless you find a movie theater and a Target interesting I'd probably skip the Metreon.
If you want to a mall experience you're better served going into the Westfield SF Centre.

They still have some decent places to eat... no?
I go here every time I am in SF. Western Bacon Blue Ring and garlic fries FTW.
