Hong Kong, last I heard my friends just return saying price are jack bit higher (it was lower sometime ago when the econmy is bad and after hit by SARS and gov lower many fee and tons of travel deals). Because recently the "free style tour" open by China gov (a way to keep Hong Kong afloat) that ppl in some China cities (a policy was some area need permit to go/live around the country) can go without apply for "visa". This floods the Mong Kok and around area ... and everywhere you go, shop do not speak Cantonese (where is the "official" local dialect) but Mandarin...

for computer parts, may be cheaper across the rivier (in china)

We just adopted a baby girl from China who was traveling on her Chinese passport, and she was allowed in for 7 days without a visa (we left the next day so it didn't matter). So, the "free style tour" is still going.

The bars where foreigners hang out are in Central Hong Kong Island, Lan Kwai Fong is the place, I suddenly forgot what the english name is.
Afternoon you should just browse around Mong Kok and move to Tsim Sha Shui at night.
Then you can check out the coast view of Hong Kong Island.

dude can you get omegas?

Back on topic, I've never heard of the medicine market neither.
Are you sure that's from HK?

Perhaps he is referring to the medicine shops in the Western district?

Well, I don't have any on here that show the actual street itself (and i'm too lazy to find em, resize, and upload :p) but there was stuff like all over the place. It had the strangest smell. And I do remember there being a well known (I think, not a skyskraper either) building right by it with an old fashioned red british phone booth inside of it lol.

Going to HK next week, need to find a hotel to stay at, any recommends? Also, do people usually pay with cash or credit cards there?

People usually pay by cash there, especially those intersting sellers on the street. Exchange rate between USD and HKD is pretty much the same most of the time, so don't worry too much about that.

PM me if you need anything. I'm in HK right now.
