just got back from Fresno, I must say it wasn't all that bad. Granted there are certain part of town that isn't desirable, but the northern area seems pretty nice (River Park area). I also had a pretty good dinner at Yoshino (sorry, my coworkers didn't want to eat at Hunan Garden or Cabo Wabo)

OP:
? any ideas like restaurant recommendation?

Crap I live like 45 minutes away and am there on occasion, but never at night haha. I know there are all kinds of clubs there that the local radio stations always frequent.

check out Hobbs Grove for sure.

also check out this site:

local radio station

and this one

local radio station 2

I know they have dj's at local places alot of the nights of the week.

oh i was always under the impression that fresno is just a truckstop for people going between SF and LA. Good to hear of stuff going on there.

It probably is... like Stockton but not as run down. But I'm sure stuff goes down even in small towns.

I lived in Fresno pretty much all my life and I'll sadly admit there isnt much to do. It's a growing town but still small with a population of only about 500k. There's maybe 2 or 3 clubs but not sure if they're even open on Sun and Mon nights. There's the Tower District with a bunch of old shops and stuff. There's 4 malls but only 2 worth really going to. River Park area is a good place to maybe catch a movie, get some dinner and browse through the shops. There's also a couple of indian casinos on the outskirts of the town.

A trip to the ER in Fresno could be quite interesting about now.

actually, I heard Fresno is a booming city. They "say" it looks more like OC than Stockton.
Stop it. Just stop it.

He used to be a chef in Beijing, and in SF, but he couldn't afford to open one in the Bay Area. He went to Fresno instead, and Bay Area foodies make the trek to Fresno to eat his food.
