What to do in Denver in January besides ski?

Gravity

Diamond Member
I would like to know what I can do besides ski. Snowmobiling sounds appealing but I'm not sure if I can rent one.

I will be there at least 5 days, maybe 6 if I can find something interesting/exciting to do.

Thanks,

Gravity

Drive to Sydney Nebraska and go to Cabelas, take a hike at Pawnee Buttes on the way back.

Hike in the foothills near Golden or Morrison.

Eat at India's Restaurant on Tamarac.

Go to the zoo.

Can those hikes be done in the winter without ice gear?

Pawnee Buttes, yes. The others really depend on the snow year. I'm not in Denver so I don't know how their winter is going.

ummm there is a new cabelas store in Golden, and a new Bass Pro shop at I-270 & I-70.

you could go down to the Royal George, or you can go to Estes Park, if you want to ski and on a budget go to Eldora Ski Area, its close and you wont get caught in the I-70 traffic going to the $$$ ski resorts.

There's a few things to do in Denver...depends on what you like to do. Drinking seems to be a common pastime here. 🙂

Steamboat Springs has some pretty good snowmobiling. However, it's a 4 hr drive up there in the Winter. The bars and clubs in Lodo are pretty popular on Thursday - Sunday. I'm not sure if the Avs or Nuggets are in town but you can go watch them at the Pepsi Center.

It's been pretty warm up here for the last few days, so you might be able to go hiking out in the foothills.

Shoot me a PM if you want some more suggestions. I work on the 18th floor (training is on 19th) and I can probably give you some more suggestions once I know what you're looking for.
