what to do in Denver and Omaha NE?

Agreed. That's probably the biggest "tourist" thing in Omaha. That and the CWS but that's of course done already. The zoo is probably your best bet and is pretty interesting even if going to the zoo doesn't sound like a lot of fun. The indoor rainforest is good, the aquarium is nice, they built a new desert dome in the last few years, and they've got a big Imax.

There's also a botanical garden somewhere near the zoo; I'm not exactly sure where. That's not quite my thing but it's supposed to be nice.

Denver actually has a nice aquarium. There's also the botanical gardens, zoo, art museum, natural history museum, bums, etc...

How much time will you have?

Of course, there's the mountains. A 40 minute-or-so drive will get you to the top of Loveland Pass (provided it's open) where you can hike around and enjoy the wonderful view at 13,000 feet. I was just up there yesterday with a couple buddies. Wear snowpants/jacket. One of my buddies actually got a backcountry snowboard run in, and the snowdrifts have gotten somewhat deep (mid-thigh) in some spots.

quick reply:

yes, Omaha has the best zoo so far, much better than the Wildlife Park in San Diego, and a bit better thant he San Diego Zoo. but for $9.75, it is a tough price to beat. (SD Zoo = 30-ish, Wildlife park = 20).

Omaha steak is okay, I had one in Gorat, and it was so so, perhaps I should've tried it at Omaha Prime in Old Market.

Gooberlx2: where's the art musem?

In Denver have a Coors, and in Omaha have a steak.

or, you can just hit the visitors center and check stuff out.
