What to do for legitimate failed activations

I just saw a post over at the Windows 10 forums and some of the guys have learned that if you continue to click on the activation button that you will eventually get through and activate your legitimate copy of windows 10. I followed their suggestions and sure enough it worked on the two pc's I was having trouble with earlier. Once you've activated your copy, which is now tied to your Microsoft account, you will not have to reenter a key when you clean install on that particular machine.
 
What doesn't really make sense too me is, why wasn't MS ready for the avalanche of installs? When you flash "free" in front of people, they usually act on it.

Would be interesting to see actual stats based on how many went 7->10 vs 8->10 vs 10.
 
I used the media creator tool. I got tired of waiting around for the notice. Did the upgrade, activated. Then did a clean install that is also activated. I think taking the day off had a lot to do with it. That and installing very early this morning. It was a smooth as butter.
 
When I upgraded my laptop a little while ago it activated immediately with the install so they must have freed up some bandwidth.

I had this problem yesterday,yes it is the servers being overloaded,today mine automatically activated on its own ,so be patient.
