I won a $5 auction on Friday.... After the auction ended, I tried to establish contact with the seller to confirm my payment, etc... I sent him an email on Friday night, but he still hasn't reply me yet... I have NOT send him payment yet...

Should I send him another email? Or should I just give him a negative feedback? If I give him a negative feedback, can he turn around and give me one also?

Did it say in the auction that they'd contact you within a certain number of days? If they did, wait until that period is over then report them to Ebay if they still haven't made contact.

Nope, the auction never talked about them contacting me within X days after the auction ended....

I would not start worrying just yet. Some people get a millions of e-mails a day from selling on ebay. Often times it takes them a while to respond or not even responding at all. If they have good feedback I'd try not to worry. I've actually had someone send me the item with no contact at all. I kept e-mailing and e-mailing but got no response. I thought I got ripped off but it turned out he just never responded back to me.

Until you allow the seller to sleep with your girlfriend there's no way I'm going to see your point. :p

I dealt with an ebay seller that has 54 positive feedback & 1 negative feedback.

I was purchasing quickbook software and paid about $170 for it and it never came. I've waited 3 weeks and emailed the seller a few times without any response from him.

This piss me off so bad, so I ended up filing a complain with paypal with their $500 insurance guarantee. I got my money back in less than 24 hours.

The bad thing is I can't leave a negative feedback for the seller since the transaction was cancelled. This is too bad and I hope no one has to deal with this seller again.

err

If it was canceled then you wouldn't be obligated to buy from him

leave it a week then send him another email.

I would wait at least 10 days then threaten negative feedback if he does not respond in another 3 days.

Problem with leaving negative fedback is, you get it returned with interest, even if you don't deserve it

Which is why you wait a day before the window closes to leave feedback to do it.

How long is the window open?

My wife had an auction that ended in August, she left neutral feedback in November and got negative feedback in return.

I wasn't about to leave negative feedback for the seller... I just wanted to get an idea what options I have and how long I should wait BEFORE leaving negative feedback...

Think of it in the reverse situation, for filing a NPB:

eBay recommends contacting each other within 7 business days.

If after 3 business days and no response, send payment reminder.

After 7 days you can finally file a NPB notice.

Then they have 10 days to work it out with you before the NPB goes on record.

So:

Wait until the end of the week until to start freaking out.

Meanwhile, send a polite email asking about the auction.

If no response by Mon, then send a more demanding letter.

And so on...
