I've found these speeds very impressive for me, since this is my first OCing. but I want Stability!!!
I managed a FSB:Dram of 200Mhz in my Rig. but after 1Hr 12Min, prime95 gave me an error.
My CPU temp. gets 42º idle, 50º under load, 57º Max. prime95. Case 28º idle, 33º prime95.

This was done under these conditions:
Abit NF7-S, unmodded D24 bios, Vdd:1.7v
XP2600+ Tbred-B @ 2200Mhz (200*11) Vcore:1.70v....With Stock HSF
Corsair XMS2700C2 2x256MB DC @ 400Mhz DDR, 2-3-3-11 Vdimm:2.9v (real 2.96v)
GF4 Ti4200 250/513.
Samsung 80GB PATA.
WInXP Pro SP1.

My Case have two fans on a side window so it keeps very cool.

What is the next step??, Raise Vcore, decrease CPU multiplier or what??

help me...thanks in advance!!!

my setup loses stability even with normally stable settings before i crank up the fan speed when its near 50 under load...cooling may be an issue for u

First, I would have overclocked the fsb and cpu independently, because it's easier to single out which component gave you the errornous result. I have a 2700 which is the same your chip just clocked higher from factory, only I got it to run at 2365MHz. The stock heatsink fan does suck. and bringing the voltage higher will just create more heat on the CPU, and with it already at 57, that may not be a good idea. My value select RAM got up to 215@2.5-4-4-11.

Thanks.
I raised the Vcore up to 1.75v and kept all the settings mentioned above.
Prime95 ran without errors during 7hrs of torture tests, The temps went up to 58? in prime95.
I think i'm gonna let my system as is, under windows workload--> 48? max. , Idle 43? & games like Q3 or UT2004 55?. although I know it gets pretty hot in games, As I've heard from experts It wont be any dangerous as long as the temps dont reach +60?.

Finally, the heartwarming results of the OCing.

everything At stock Speeds:

120094 3Dmark01

With Mem/CPU/Video Overclocked.

13108 3Dmark01

It's really worth the 1000 points more:cool:

Bump that Vdimm to 2.8 for extra stability, running in DC needs more juice occasionly..

Even though 60C is getting warm, it's nothing to worry about and not even remotley dangerous..

I believe the current cores are good till 92C.. Granted nowhere near stable, you are likely to do more damage to a chip from higher voltage ( 1.9 and ^ )

well, i've been really surprised, and very happy as well with my OC'ed system, my two memory modules XMS2700C2 (not twins) are running entirely stable in dual channel mode, I ran Prime95 during 3 hours with FSB @ 205Mhz 2-3-3-11 Vdimm:2.9v (real 2.96v) without any error. but what really concerns to me right now, and this is in fact my reason for posting is:

Is the Vdimm voltage running so high? here at corsair's site says it is dangerous ramping up voltage over 2.8v.

will the memory suffer a considerable lifespan cut or a sudden death?

Take into acoount my case never reaches more than 36º after workload. (e.g. gaming)
The system is running under all settings mentioned in the first post.
Thanx in advance!!
