Trying to deal with an issue (video signal went out after I changed the AGP aperture size in the BIOS), I reset my CMOS by unplugging the power and battery.
Having done that (and putting a new video card in when it will didn't fix the issue), I'm wondering what all I might have erased.
If there had been any BIOS flashes done by the shop that assembled it (or me), any updates for things like USB 2.0 support, I assume they're all gone?
Also, it booted up with the default 100/100 setting for bus and mem speed, making it say I have an Athlon 1500+. I bumped that to 133/133, now it says the CPU is a 2200+.
I also still have some issues with rebooting while playing world of warcraft - these may be more related to the graphic card/driver config, I dunno.
I'm wondering, what all should I do to get the K7S5A BIOS updated again after resetting it? I did install one update that was said to help VGA.
FWIW, cpu-z says the BIOS is AMI version 07.00T.
Also, any way to get an accurate id of the CPU other than removing the fan and looking?
