What to do about Windows XP MCE 2005 disk 2005 that contains XP PRO

I just built my new computer and was installing an OEM copy of XP Media Center edition 2005 purchased from (not naming names yet but a very well known computer parts site). The problem is that the disk look like real Microsoft disks but they contain XP pro and not the MCE. So when it gets to the installation point asking for XP pro service pack I don't have it and can not complete the installation.

I called MS media replacement and as expected they don't want to do anything because it is OEM. They don't even care.

I contacted the site that sold me the software and they at first didn't want to do anything but I at least they said they would email me tomorrow. I am not even sure they believed me.

Anyone else run into a similar problem or have any advice on how I should handle this?

thanks,

MCE installs from PRO + one more disc. Did you receive two?

That is useful information. I wouldn't have expected that. The third disk is a Windows XP Media Center Edition Updates for Version 2005 disk. If I put it in when the installer asks for a Windows XP service pack 2 disk it doesn't find anything. I have to click cancel to complete the installation. Then when I restart the computer the IE browser is missing/broken as well as the help system and probably other things. There is a cabinet file on the third disk which I tried to launch post install but it gets an error (srclient.dll not found, try reinstalling).

Well I found directions for installing Windows MCE over on avsforum. Seems that you need to insert the first disk back in the drive when prompted for the XP pro SP 2 disk. I did this and it seems to have solved my problem.
