I have this reoccuring wart on my finger. I've had it burned before but it slowly comes back. I'd like to try something different. Are there any alternative treatments?

I've heard of folks tying a horse hair anound it and tightening, honest! What do you mean you had it burned off? What procedure is that?

Buy one of the OTC wart kits & a package of disposable nail files.

File the top of it until it hurts, then put one of the pads on, held with a bandage. Repeat every day or so until it's gone.

And throw away the damned nail files, they're gross after that.

um, the smart way is to go to you doc. they will freeze the skin to numb it and then burn it off.

the dumb way (which drives my wife insane) is to take a pair of 99 cent toenail clippers and cut it out the kernel. it will probably take two clips to get the kernal AND it will bleed like a SOB and it may not work at all. ITs quite satisfying to get rid of your own wart. :) :)

Whoever burned it off didn't get all of it. Some of the root was left behind.

Try some of the OTC wart removers. There's one that smells really bad that I can't remember the name of that works wonders.

This is what I know:
I highly suggest seeing the doctor so that he can treat it properly. If the treatment hasn't changed over the years, he/she will probably freeze it which feels like it's burning.

You basically repeat the procedure until the wart is gone. Do not touch the wart on mucus menbrane areas and on open wounds or sore.

What I think:
Once you get warts, you will always have it as part of your system. But they do not resurface if one generally practices good body hygiene.

Good luck to you. Once again, highly recommend seeing a professional. Doctors don't built their own computers, hence I don't recommend treating one self if one doesn't fully understand it.

Watch where you stick that finger.

I don't think it's contagious cuz well, uhh, you know, i'm a guy, and well, uhh, see...it hasn't spread anywhere. :)

I had one on my hand a while ago, a pocket knife and a few bandaids fixed that. Didn't leave a noticeable scar but it bleeds all over the place.

Ew! That was gross, Wah!

There's wart removing medicine out there. I think it's called Compound-W. I had some warts on my fingers (haha, yes, on the middle finger too) and I used Compound-W to get rid of it. Works pretty well.

Edit:
Whatever you do, don't try to cut it off with a toenail clipper! I tried that, and it bled like crazy, and the wart came back, bigger and uglier.

Try a soldering iron. If you don't have one of those (shame on you!), try heating a knife up on the stove to blue temp and scrape away!

Cheers!

it's caused by a virus. I live in a dorm and i got infected with it one year ago. went to doctor and they used Liquid Nitrogen to freeze the wort and it comes off after one day. Doctor says it might come back because the virus is still in you. I think that's what he said... I hate living in a dorm because there are all sorts of different diseases people carry and the bathrooms are communal. I can't wait to get out of this dump.

once i had wart on my hand i tried all kinds of stuff, went to a doctor to remove it but it came back. my grandmother told me something her mother told her you have to pee on your wart outside when it will be full moon and exactly 12am. believe it or not wart was gone forever in two weeks.

When I was younger...about 2nd and 3rd grade, I had over 20 warts on my one hand...my mom finally got sick of it and took me up to the doctor and had them all froze of with liquid nitrogen. Took two visits and havnt had any since.

If you dont want to go to the doctor, then do one or all of the following:
Rub rotten banana peel on it
Rub an old penny on it...not a zinc but a copper one, I think copper pennies are from 1974 and back
Piss on it
Or cut it off, and dig out the core

Dont bother with compound w and stuff, that crap never worked.
