I am building my first computer and have bought the ASUS A8N SLI-Deluxe motherboard like the previous gentleman. I however, am not wanting to spend $450-550 for the best RAM that is out there on the the market. I am building a pretty good machine but still have a smaller budget. I purchased Corsair memory "VS1GBKIT400 1GB Kit DDR400 PC3200 CAS2.5 Value Select" the same day I purchased the mobo. Looking at the ASUS user guide, under the Qualified Vendor List, it states that this RAM does not support (statement taken form the user guide): "supports one pair of modules inserted into either the blue and black slots or the black slots as one pair of Dual-channel memory configuration". Please keep in mind that there is not a dot, check, or "x" for this and it appears to me that the RAM will work but not as a dual channel configuration (which I understand is a little better). Am I misunderstanding this statement? Does this RAM actually support the dual channel configuration? Also, the majority of the members and senior members are using OCZ. In the ASUS user manual, it does not list OCZ as a Qualified Vendor. I am a little confused as what to do next. I was about to order some KINGSTON RAM but I saw this forum and decided to write in and ask. If anyone has the time to post suggestions, I would aprreciate it.
Thanks for the help in advance,
