what do i do about a non paying bidder on ebay.

i opened a non paying bidder investication saying "buyer refuses to pay"

he logs into ebay, marks payment sent and responds that he had a family tragedy and cant pay. but the day the auction ended he said sorry, i just cant afford it.

can i only get back the final value fee, what about the other listing fees.

Can you forward his email/response to you that he can't afford it to ebay? Send whatever correspondence to them, maybe you'll get it back.

Do a Dispute with the mutual agreement not to proceed, or whatever it is. Basically, you both agree to back out of the sale, and neither one gets any bad marks on the record. All he has to do is log back in, agree to it, and you're in the clear to do a second chance offer or relist. I just had an issue with a buyer not paying (well, more complicated!), and that's how we handled it without any trouble.

That said, Ebay and Paypal suck. :|
