Does the volume ever go down? Maybe the guy died. You can always hope.

I actually thought that initially, but the volume does go down after some time. He comes home from work around 6, and that is when the noise starts.

Interesting. I am your neighbor (well, not in reality, but I also get home about 6:00PM and like loud music). But that's where the similarities end.

My music is NEVER loud past 9:30 PM. Ever. In fact, it's usually completely OFF by 10:00PM. Yet my neighbors, in all three apartment complexes I've lived in over the past four years, continue to be waa-waa-weenies and rat me out.

Anyone that blasts music past 11:00PM is downright inconsiderate. Anyone blastic music all thru the night until 4:00AM needs an ass kicking.

My post here will QUICKLY be followed by 1,938 posts saying "you live in an apartment, therefore you should NEVER blast your music, you inconsiderate fvck!"

To them, I raise The Middle Finger of Fvck You-It-ness and say "You live in an apartment, you have neighbors; DEAL."

We all have to get along. I play music until 9:30. You beat your wife until 10:00...nobody calls the police. That's the way apartment living is supposed to work, dammit.

😀

I love you MichaelD.

Get concert sized speakers that you can rent, aim it towards the floor and turn it on full blast. Heck, that might even destroy the walls below you.

Since you DID say you haven't had any problems with him, and he has been a nice guy, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt until you know for sure he has been made aware of the problem.

But yeah, continue talking to management. It does sound like kind of a shady situation.

go buy a velodyne 15" subwoofer, hook it up, and turn it up full blast.

Hahaha. My good buddy has one of those, I call it "the coffee table".

I hope you get this resolved. My apartment complex has a strict noise policy. 3 strikes and your out. I remember signing a seperate piece of paper for this. Of course I've never had a problem with this. My next door and downstairs neighbors are really cool.

Since he lives below you water is your friend.

Go to bathroom. Cut off water to toilet. Drill 1/2 hole in subfloor next to toilet water supply line. Flush toilet. Disconnect water line to toilet tank. Insert toilet tank water supply line into 1/2 hole and cut water back on. Let water run for about 10- 30 minutes. Don't answer door if anyone knocks.

Re-connect water line to toilet tank and cover drilled hole in subfloor with throw rug. Repeat as often as needed.

If apartment manger sends plumber act dumb, must be leaking in wall/ceiling. No water on the floor or anything in my bathroom.

That person on the other side of the door will most likely be the police...

Not everyone works 9-5, seems kinda rude to me. You can get some nice headphones for $50-$100, closed phones have the added bonus of attenuating outside noise.

hmm...undercover cop? hahaha i watch too many movies and tv programs that reltate to this...

oh and see if you can somehow get access to the breaker box going to his apartment

This is why I never have and never will live in an Apartment or COndo complex...

Not everyone can afford a house you know.

rofl. I can afford a house.. a reasonably decent house even, 2300 sq ft, 1/3 acre, mature trees 🙂 quiet neighborhood, good schools.. but I don't even dream of being able to afford my parents condo.

I'd call the police too. it's more.. ethical.. than flooding the apartment.

michaelD.. I'd still rather live next door to you and your loud music and movies that turn off at 9:30 or 10 than all these neighbor dogs that turn on at all hours and don't seem to have an off switch.

just keep talking to the managment, it's better to get him in trouble, than to needlessly retaliate and get in trouble.
